Mission

The International School of Western Australia aims to empower individuals to think creatively, value diversity, pursue a passion for learning and contribute positively to society.

Purpose

To provide an English language based internationally-recognised school for students from years one to 12, to a multicultural student body in an environment that promotes academic excellence, celebrates diversity and develops socially responsible and active global citizens.

Core Values

  1. Academic excellence and cultivation of positive attitudes towards lifelong learning
    The International School of Western Australia uses internationally recognised education principles and practices to prepare students for universities worldwide. Small class sizes provide a supportive educational environment that encourages the pursuit of knowledge and understanding, and instills in students a lifelong love of learning.

  2. An International Curriculum
    The International School of Western Australia’s curriculum is based on international university preparatory programs such as the Advanced Placement (AP) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma program.

  3. Celebrating Diversity
    The International School of Western Australia provides educational programs to a co-educational, non-denominational and multicultural student body (Australian citizens, residents and international students). The school conducts a broad range of cultural programs and activities that recognise and respect individuals’ cultural and religious backgrounds.

  4. Suitability and Sustainability
    The International School of Western Australia is an independent not-for-profit school operated by the Australian Association for International Education Inc. The school’s governance structure and processes are established in accordance with the current best practice of Australian independent schools.

  5. Parental Involvement and Support
    The association that governs the school is comprised of parents or guardians of students enrolled at the International School of Western Australia and also have representation of the board of the association. Parents are represented by the Parents Group, which contributes significantly to the school community.

  6. Community Involvement and Social Responsibility
    The International School of Western Australia recognises and supports local community involvement through school organisations such as the Student Council and the National and Junior National Honour Society. The school also offers participation in a broad range of sporting and social events and programs.
