ISA Testing for Gr. 3 - 9
January 29, 2008 Students in grades 3 - 9 will take part in the ISA (International Schools’ Assessment) testing to be scheduled during the week beginning Monday, 04 Feb. Please try to avoid scheduling appointments during school hours this week. International Schools’ Assessment (ISA) is an assessment program that has been specially developed to measure the skills of international school students in mathematical literacy, reading and writing.
The ISA is based on the internationally endorsed mathematical literacy and reading frameworks of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). It is designed and developed in Australia by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). Students will complete a reading test, two mathematical literacy tests and two writing tests, each of which takes between 45 minutes and one hour. The tests include both multiple-choice and open-ended tasks. As an assessment with an international focus, the ISA is designed for students from diverse cultural backgrounds, and for schools with a variety of curricula.
